Golden Oldies Festival, Durban - 9/10/11th August 2013

Kingsmead Mynahs Club invites your club to participate in Durban's Golden Oldies Festival, on Friday 9th (a holiday), Saturday 10th , and, Sunday 11th August.

There will be a opening function on Thursday 8th August in the Kingsmead Mynahs Long Room at Sahara Kingsmead Stadium, with a celebrity guest speaker, 18h00/1830. The closing dinner will be in the Presedent's Suite at the same stadium on Sunday 11th August 18h30/19h00 ( N.B.- or, should you prefer this to be held on Saturday 10th, please let me know, and, a majority vote decision will be made). Festival leisure shirts will also be provided for all participants.

The format will be 40 overs per innings, with the batsman retiring at 40, or 35, depending on the agreement between the teams, and, recycling should the team be all out. The bowlers are restricted to a maximum of 7 overs each.

The matches will be held at grounds in and around the Thekweni( Greater Durban) area, starting at 09h30. The teams will be matched against sides of a similar age group, to ensure the games are competitive (as per concept of Air New Zealand World Golden Oldies).

Accommodation - For teams requiring accommodation please go into Durban Tourism website https://www.durbanexperience.co.za where you can find pricing for self catering, and, bed and breakfasts. I have also negotiated with Belaire Suites Hotel, who are within close walking distance (safe) of Suncoast Casino, and, a few kilometres from Sahara Kingsmead Stadium at under R450.00/person sharing (at present they have ample accommodation).
