U11s Set for Cricket Showcase

The annual Sunfoil Twenty20 tournament, showcasing under-11 cricketing talent in the province, will be played at Kearsney College this weekend.

Fifteen primary school teams will be participating this year, including newcomers from Somerset in the Cape and Ashton from Ballito.

This year teams are competing from Winston Park, Highbury, Hillcrest,

Kloof, HCA Curro, Westville, Northlands, Chelsea, Umhlali and Ashton College, as well as St Charles and Pelham from Pietermaritzburg, Somerset Cricket Club and two development sides from the KZN Cricket Union.

All the games will be played at Kearsney College.

Once again Sunfoil is the main sponsor, with additional support from Betts Construction through Kingsmead Mynahs.

The tournament runs from Friday to Sunday. Teams will play in pools of eight and play seven games in the three days, promising non-stop cricket for the weekend.

Ample secure parking will be available, as well as refreshments from the Kearsney coffee shop.
